The Jets were 11-5 last year.  I think that they have improved the talent on the roster for the 2011 and they schedule isn’t incredibly tough.  That being said, I’m still more than a little leary of taking the over with Mark Sanchez at QB.  I think the Jets are going to play a lot of close games in 2011, and they are going to lose some of those.  With that in mind, if pressed to make a bet I would take the under….but in reality I think they are going to win 10 games in 2011 and tie the number.

I am a firm believer in running the ball on offense and playing solid D.  That is exactly the game plan of the Jets every week.  The Jets have added more playmakers around 2nd year QB Mark Sanchez who played his best football during the playoffs.  The Jets hope that Sanchez’ playoff performance spills over into 2010 as he is the key for the team getting to the next level.  I think the Jets will win at least 10 games so my money is being placed on the over.  The Jets are 11-1 to win the Super Bowl and I think it’s also worth putting a few bucks on that too.

With Brett Favre in the fold it’s all systems go for a revival of Jets’ football.  The Jets have improved in a few areas and it will make them a legit playoff contender.  I’m thinking that the Jets will win at least 9 games this season so plunk some cash down on the over and take the money to the bank.

I think the way to go on this is to take the over.  The Jets are getting no respect in the line as the bookies and Las Vegas are treating them like flukes.  But, I think the Jets really improved the offense with the trade for running back Thomas Jones who will make Chad Pennington’s play action passes lethal this season.  Take the over.
