New York Jets (3-3) vs. San Diego Chargers (4-1)

Blogged under Uncategorized by admin on Saturday 22 October 2011 at 4:20 am

Rex Ryan and Norv Turner traded barbs in the media this week adding some more spice to Sunday’s Game.  As if it didn’t already have enough with LaDainian Tomlinson and Antonio Cromartie wanting to get back at their old team.  The Jets are 3-0 at home this year, where they have played really well.  The Chargers are coming off of their bye week.  The four teams that the Chargers have beaten this year have a combined record of 4-17 so far this year.  Here is a look at the matchups in this game:

When the Jets have the ball:  The Jets are going to try to push the Chargers around with the running game this weekend.  Shonn Greene and L.T. are going to take aim at the Chargers’ D as they are giving up 113.6 yards rushing per game and 4.6 yards per carry so far this year.  If the Jets can give Mark Sanchez time to throw the ball (the Chargers only have 8 sacks so far this year), he’s going to make some plays down the field off of playaction to Dustin Keller, Santonio Holmes and Plaxico Burress.

When the Chargers have the ball:  The Jets are going to have to make a concerted effort to stop RBs Ryan Mathews and Mike Tolbert if they want to win this weekend.  The Jets are going to blitz a lot, so look for the Chargers to throw a lot of passes to the RBs on screens and to TE Antonio Gates over the middle.  The Jets are confident that Darrelle Revis and Antonio Cromartie will be able to lock down Vincent Jackson and Malcom Floyd this Sunday.

PREDICTION:  JETS 23, CHARGERS 20

New York Jets vs. Indianapolis Colts

Blogged under Uncategorized by admin on Saturday 23 January 2010 at 9:57 am

The Jets beat the Colts just a few weeks ago after they yanked Peyton Manning.  But, the Jets were real close until Manning was yanked so I think this will be an outstanding football game.  The Jets won’t change a thing on offense in this game as they will give the ball to Shonn Greene and Thomas Jones as many times as possible.  The Jets don’t waver from that philosophy either as they were running the ball even after they fell behind against the Chargers and it paid off.  The Jets’ offensive line is a big, physical and nasty bunch who will likely push around the front seven of the Colts.  The Colts will likely bring up the safeties against the run and soon as they do look for some play action passes to TE Dustin Keller who is having an outstanding post-season.  The Jets’ O-Line must do a good job of keeping Dwight Freeney and Robert Mathis out of the backfield because Mark Sanchez tends to make “rookie” mistakes when the pass rush is in his face.

Defensively the Jets are going to be all about stopping Peyton Manning and the passing game.  That is because they are confident that ILBs Bart Scott and David Harris will be able to stop Joseph Addai and the Colts’ running game.  The Jets will sick CB Darrelle Revis on Reggie Wayne but Peyton Manning will throw to his buddy anyway so he better be ready to be challenged.  The biggest key for the Jets are going to be the safeties (Kerry Rhodes and Jim Leonhard) who are going to have to deal with Dallas Clark.  Clark is a different animal than Antonio Gates as he is more like an extra WR lining up next to the OT.  Peyton Manning will also likely come after Lito Sheppard with Pierre Garcon and Austin Collie so he better be ready for action.

PREDICTION:  COLTS 21, JETS 17

New York Jets vs Miami Dolphins preview

Blogged under Uncategorized by Andrew on Friday 30 October 2009 at 8:59 pm

The New York Jets are looking for revenge Sunday against the Miami Dolphins, who beat them 31-27 in week five.  Mark Sanchez has been struggling the past few games and was throwing a lot of interceptions, so the Jets did the smart thing and limited his opportunities.  Sanchez went 9 for 15 last week for only 143 yards, but the running game racked up over 300 yards and Sanchez did not throw any picks.  If the Jets can do more of the same this week, they should win this game.

The Dolphins have a similar mentality on offense as the Jets.  They have a rookie quarterback in Chad Henne who tends to make mistakes, so they will limit him and feed it to the running backs.  They also have the Wildcat running attack, which was pretty effective against the Jets last game.  Henne did have his best game of the season against the Jets, but the Wildcat and the running backs had a lot to do with his success, as he had wide open receivers to throw to.  I’m not expecting as good of a game this time, as the Jets have already faced him so they should shut him down and possibly get some turnovers from him.  This will be another close one, but the Jets will get revenge and win at home.

FINAL SCORE PREDICTION:  New York Jets 28, Miami Dolphins 24

Nfl Total Access Official Review segment

Blogged under Uncategorized by JustinMiller22speed on Wednesday 1 November 2006 at 8:31 pm

Did any of my fellow green backs happen to check out the segment on Total access called Officials review?  If didnt it was a total let down on how the officials make so called “judgement” calls.  It is totally mindnumbing to set there and listen to this head official tell Rich Eisen that the call was way to close to even discuss in a indepth manner, when quite frankly it was obvious that Chris Baker would have caught his first TD of the season to tie the game in Cleveland.  In this case I attended the game in person but was on the opposite end where this event occurred but still able to see it on the jumbotron made me believe that the Jets would have been able to even the score.  In closing I would like to say thanks for letting me vent to anyone reading this, I bleed green and hate anyone playing my beloved J-E-T-S!!!!                  seriously green,   Chuck…

Jet’s flying high

I just want to say that I have been very impressed these last two seasons with my Jets. I have been a jet fan for 25 years now and it has been very heartbreaking up until 2004.Chad I have a lot of faith in your abilities, if you stay where you are (as a Jet-I), I see a very bright and promising career for both you and our beloved team. Once you slow down your game a bit more and find more confidence in your abilities I see you headed for the hall of fame at the end of your career.Keep up the march young Jet-I For I am always rooting (and praying) for you and our team.

Jets are the same old Jets

Blogged under Uncategorized by xxframexx on Monday 9 October 2006 at 5:59 pm

The Jets play an excellent game in Indy, and then are blown out by Jacksonville.  Same old Jets.  Every time the Jets play a good game against a good team, and lose, the next week they get blown out.  Let’s face it; the Jets are not super bowl contenders.  Maybe not even playoff contenders.  But they are getting better.  Pennington is not an all-star QB like Joe Namath.  Coles is not Jerry Rice.  And the Jets defense is not the Steal Curtain.  But without that moron Herm Edwards we have a shot at getting better.  If the front office gives Mangie control.  This will never happen.  Why did Belicheck leave?  Front Office.  That is where the problem beginnings.  It will be many more years of misery for us Jets fans until maybe someday, not next year; we will win the super bowl.  Hey look at the bright side, at least people can not call Jets fan band wagon jumpers.
