The New York Jets cut two players
The Jets have released WRs David Clowney and Patrick Turner. The Jets needed their roster spots to activate WR Santonio Holmes from his league suspension and they also re-signed NT Howard Green. Clowney played in 3 games for the Jets this year and he had 1 catch for 22 yards. He has played in 18 games in his three years with the Jets and he caught 16 passes for 239 yards (14.9 avg) with 1 TD grab. Turner didn’t get into any games for the Jets this year. 31-year old Howard Green is back with the Jets. He played in 1 game earlier this year for the Jets and he had 1 tackle and 1 forced fumble. The Jets have been waiting for 26-year old WR Santonio Holmes who will give the Jets another big weapon in the passing game. Holmes played in 16 games for the Steelers last year and he caught 79 passes for 1,248 yards (15.8 avg) with 5 TD grabs.
