New York Jets 26, Buffalo Bills 17
The Jets had a solid all around game last Sunday against the Bills and they are now tied for first place in the AFC East with a 5-3 record. The big key to this game for the Jets was stopping the Bills’ running game and making them one dimensional on offense. The Bills only finished up with 30 yards rushing on 17 carries (1.8 ypc). That put a lot of pressure on Trent Edwards and he just couldn’t come through for them. Abram Elam of the Jets returned a interception 92 yards for a TD on the last play of the first quarter helping set the defensive tone of the game. The Jets offense was efficient but not spectacular. Brett Favre completed 19 of 28 passes for 201 yards with a interception that was returned 42-yards for a TD by Jabari Greer of the Bills. Thomas Jones was the workhorse for the Jets’ offense in this game as he rushed for 69 yards on 12 carries (5.8 ypc) with a TD run and he also caught 6 passes for 38 yards (6.3 avg). This was a huge win for the Jets who can start thinking about winning the AFC East.
