Mike Nugent had a tough rookie season but he rebounded in a big way last year.  He made 88.9% of his field goals and 34 of 35 extra points to finish with 106 points last season for the Jets.  Nugent was 18 for 20 on field goals of 39 or less yards and he was 6 for 7 on 40+ yard field goal attempts.  Look for Nugent to have a big year in 2007 now that he’s earned Coach Mangini’s faith.

Nugent has now played in 32 games in his NFL career and he has made 46 of 55 (83.6%) field goals and he has converted 58 of 59 extra points.  He has now scored 196 points in his NFL career for an average of 6.1 points per game.
