The Jets cut a couple of veterans

The Jets have cut defensive lineman Bobby Hamilton and running back Derrick Blaylock.  Hamilton is getting up in age as he will be 36 before next season starts.  He played in 16 games last season and made 30 tackles, defensed a pass and recovered a fumble.  The Jets want to get bigger along the defensive front and they will try to do that either in free agency or the draft.  Derrick Blaylock was a huge disappointment for the Jets.  They gave him a chance early in the season as he played in 4 games (2 starts) and he carried the football 25 times for 44 yards (1.8 ypc).  He also caught 5 passes for 29 yards (5.8 avg).  Neither of these players is much of a loss for the Jets who will be able to replace both of them easily.
