The Jets had to release Kevan Barlow after he refused to take a pay cut.  He didn’t play well at all last season for the Jets as he played in 12 games (3 starts) and carried the ball 131 times for 370 yards (2.8 ypc) with 6 TD runs.  He also caught 7 passes for 21 yards (3.0 avg).  He could be re-signed by the Jets eventually at a bargain rate.

The Jets need more from their TEs

When you have a quarterback that doesn’t have a big-time arm his best friend is usually a tight end but the Jets need an improvement at this position.  Their TEs only caught 37 passes for 344 yards with 4 TD catches.

Chris Baker played in 16 games (14 starts) this season and he caught 31 passes for 300 yards (9.7 avg) with 4 TD catches.  For his career, Baker has played in 68 games (23 starts) and he has caught 83 passes for 902 yards (10.9 avg) with 9 TD grabs.

Sean Ryan played in 16 games (3 starts) this season and he caught 6 passes for 44 yards (7.3 avg).  For his career, Ryan has played in 25 games (5 starts) and he caught 6 passes for 44 yards (7.3 avg).
