Jets by the numbers
The Jets are averaging 21.0 points per game, but their offense has been a little up and down. The Jets are averaging 115.4 yards rushing per game and 3.6 yards per carry. They have gotten much better running the ball after inserting rookie RB Leon Washington as the main ball carrier. The Jets are averaging 192.4 net yards passing per game and they’re completing 65.4% of their passes. Chad Pennington has played pretty well so far this season as his shoulder is still holding up.
The Jets defense hasn’t played too well. The Jets allow 24.7 points per game so far this season, and that should be worse considering how many yards they allow. The Jets allow opponents to rush for 142.4 yards per game and 4.5 yards per carry. The Jets are having a hard time adjusting to Coach Mangini’s new 3-4 defense. The secondary gives up a ton of passing yards. The Jets allow 229.9 yards passing per game and allow opponents to complete 56.9% of their passes.
The defense needs to improve for the Jets, or their luck will run out soon.

I agree-they cant continue to put a up a half assed, nancy like defense. they got a few tough games coming up. the pats and bears are right around the corner…
Every Jets game will be a tough one until the defense is fixed. Even this weeks game against the Browns will not be an easy one because of that D.
